It's not the data centers that will increase the jobs but rather the output of what data centers will help to produce. What neighborhoods are really giving up is the value of the land and/or lease. Still, not something to throw away. If areas play their cards right they can actually use data center development to get cheaper energy and water for citizens by forcing the data centers to build the utility upgrades for the data centers in a manner that also benefits the neighboring towns.

Lol, no. Never lived in a factory/mining town before?

My city has had three water rate hikes in 10 years because Neastle opened a bottling plant, and I don't know *anyone* that actually works for them.
