Absolutely. If you have the equipment and know how to use it, you can definitely make good money with "cost-plus" contracts. Just make sure to plan your schedule for the year, or however many contracts you plan to take on, and factor all your expenses: food, fuel, oil, tires, lodging, insurance, etc. Also have a proper tax structure to make use of every credit and exemption you can claim.

But, yeah, if you have a solid truck that can handle that kind of thing and you really, really know what you're doing, it's probably the best alternative.
