Everyone paying attention to the national debt scheme could see this coming for decades. It was just a question of how long it could be staved off and how the people in power when it hits would try to weasel their way out of it. It seems Japan is going to stave it off a little bit longer by having the US inject a fuckton of new debt to fund their government for a few more years, but what happens when that debt becomes too large too? Can't keep kicking the can down the road. Can't keep pretending that "national debt isn't really debt". Eventually the bill will become too large to bear, and eventually this will happen to every country that's doing this, including the US.
