Space combat/exploration game. I worked on it for many years already, and I hope to be finished in around half a year. Of course the determining factor is its quality as game, it's not a walking meme. The setting, the background lore is quite based. Which is why all players can only play as Whites, because the entire player faction only consists of Whites. The enemies are all the nons. But it's ultimately space combat, so that doesn't matter much. I just need red to shoot at unquestionably.
In fact players will uncover these things as time goes by. There is also a background lore, and I don't want to spoil it much, but it does carry a philosophy that transcends time and space itself, that is purely based on logic. There will be a reason why there are no aliens in the primary galaxy, and why every other galaxy is inhabited by exactly one alien species.
In essence, it's the players who are the hostile, invading aliens who go to conquer in other galaxies, and the aliens living there are viciously defending themselves.
It is very unlike Star Trek for example, where there are multiple alien species, and where the Federation happens to consist of many aliens. For example players will find lore fragments with texts that reveal that those who wrote it were in an alliance with aliens, having peaceful relations for years, and then they simultaneously, suddenly backstabbed them, killing and destroying a lot. A war broke out, which still ended in these aliens being defeated. But they were so vicious and hostile, that the war went until their extinction.
Those who wrote the lore fragments were baffled by all of it, and did not understand. But they didn't let themselves get steamrolled just like that. It appears like the great backstabbing was their plan from the very beginning.
Things like this. But, as I said, this is just background lore. 99% of the work went (and still does) go into the gameplay itself.
