Every country can benefit from someone like Deng Xiaoping. Hitler had similar economics to dengism (or rather vice versa), but unfortunately for us, nukes didn't exist yet, so Germany had no permanent deterrents. China effectively applies natsoc economics on a mass-scale and is outpacing the entire planet. I don't have a problem with China at all, I just wish that they were more brazen with foreign policy, like north korea is. Yeah yeah sure, they tacitly support iran, but say the quiet part out loud. Nobody can do shit about it, you have more industrial might than any country on the planet, nukes, and you have a stranglehold on everyones economy. China in regards to foreign policy feels like it's overly cautious. One reason I do not expect a Taiwan invasion any time soon, unfortunately. Even though in all reality, the US and Japan are almost certainly posturing and would allow China to bulldoze Taiwan without any contest out of fear of war (does literally anything that happened in the Ukraine in the past 4 years ring a bell?). The US wouldn't do shit, Japan definitely wouldn't do a damned thing and their PM is hitting the crack pipe too often if she thinks her military has the capability to do anything.
But I get it, mao (and deng, to be honest, actually even more deng) had the most batshit insane and downright stupid foreign policies in the world, regarding military excursions. Tell me what the purpose of the war in Vietnam was even for? You put them there in the first place. Why support the khmer rouge? Why support *pinochet*? Why threaten war with the soviets because you're too busy splitting hairs on marxist dogma? It's an overcorrection of past trends. The zealous recognition of pol pot and subsequent war with Vietnam over it was probably the biggest foreign policy blunder that china has ever made. Though they did secure some serious wins. Mao's rapprochement with the US led to china having its boot on the american economy's throat. The good thing about china is that they learn things from their mistakes, typically.
