Honestly it sounds less like nigger noise than modern American country music. Modern country is just niggerbabble rap and pop music being sang by whites with fake southern accents. This sounds much more like real country music than the bullshit on the charts. Which is sad, for obvious reasons.

It's been on this track for a while really. Back in the 50s and 60s when the "nashville sound" came out, the genre was doomed. Nashville sound country wasn't bad per se, but it was clearly hopping on trends and utterly lacked originality. Now, obviously, the consequence is that country sounds like nigger jungle noise with a fake southern accent being sang by some rich Yankee.

Of course there are still genuine country singers like Hank Williams Jr or Shooter Jennings, but the counterculture got bulldozed by the mainstream in the 80s and 90s and most of the outlaw singers (who kept on the original sound of country) are in their upper 80s at least, if not dead, and not enough people picked up after them to create an actual counter movement to Nashville again. So we get slop.

You'll find that there is still good country music being made today if you search for it. You likely won't find it on the radio or anything mainstream, but perhaps at local festivals or deep within youtube.

I fully agree, though that goes for a lot of things. Outlaw country did leave some descendants around. I find that "Gothic country" tends to be quite good, though it definitely diverges from standard country quite significantly (Colter Wall is a good introduction here). The most obvious influence there would be the American series by Johnny Cash. Though the only issue is that these genres dont really counter mainstream country at all anymore (in the same way that outlaw did with nashville) because they're quite obscure. The highwaymen were counter cultural and arguably some of the most famous artists around back then, and posed a legitimate problem for nashville's sales. You just don't get that anymore, nothing challenges "nashville" anymore.

What's sad is that Johnny Cash or Willie Nelson were probably far more famous than any mainstream artist and indeed they even became the mainstream. But Colter Wall or the Dead South aren't ever gonna be anywhere near as famous as hacks like Luke Bryan or Florida Georgia Line.
