I don’t know. I moved to a rural town in a red state and these people are so isolated from minorities that they parrot that colorblind meritocracy crap. I’ve heard “I don’t care if they’re black, white, purple or green with polkadots as long as they vote republican” or some variation of that from at least a dozen men and everyone here watches at least three different sports ball games even amateur leagues. They don’t have any room in their brain for crime stats after memorizing little league baseball players batting averages and life stories.

Unless the Democrats or Republicans fully collapse into unelectability (which hasn't happened to one of the two major parties in nearly 200 years), co-opting a third party is pointless. And even if it wasn't, the Libertarian Party arguably needs more purging than the Republican Party to fit our ideals. The LP is literally built on the idea of classical liberalism, which is the anti-moral, anti-social, anti-civil ideology that created all the fundamental problems of the American experiment.
