Common implies mixed together, hence the use of common-ism by few to mix many together. Sense implies ones perception of differences aka a separation from one another.

If a singular (one) refers to self as a plural (we); then ones mind gets mixed-up. Race-mixing represents the physical consequence of the underlying mental mix-up.

Btw...it's called mixed UP because we (plural) tempts one (singular) to believe that joining others makes more out of one.
