I don't think the meme author understands anything about hegel, but it's forgivable I guess because hegel had the worst prose on the fucking planet.
But hegelian dialectics is an evolution of kantian transcendental dialectics. Which is an evolution of socratic dialectics. Hegelian dialectics posits that 2 opposing things will end up in synthesis with each other (thesis, antithesis, synthesis).
There are 2 further divergences from hegel himself:
- Dialectical materialism (marxist dialectics) is the realization of the left wing turn of the young hegelians, which posits that history is driven by contradictions and conflict. To an extent, marx isn't wrong about this at all.
- actual idealism (fascist dialectics) is the realization of the "right" wing turn of the old hegelians, which posits that reality is exclusively an act of self consciousness. According to Gentile, the dialectic of the pure act is implemented in particular in the opposition between the subjectivity represented by art (thesis) and the objectivity represented by religion (antithesis) to which philosophy (synthesis) provides the solution

I will maintain it is important to give this complex notion a relatively simple name. That allows the idea to enter into common discussions more readily, which in turn obviously spreads awareness.
