the push to Defund the police is coming from the top on the left. The actual police themselves are most often just idiots collecting paychecks and on their little power trips. Once it becomes dangerous, you will see how fast they stay home.
For most police in the states, enforcement of law is at the officers discretion.
We still need a state justice system where accusations are made and defended, but justice is served by the people.
