The government didn't legalize it.
The voters of California forced a constitutional referendum and made it legal. The rest of the states realized it wasn't the moral panic it was made out to be and similarly forced the issue.
And Monsanto tweaked the plant? This dude has no fucking clue how most marijuana is actually grown, which is from clones, not from seed. Almost no one plants seeds. The whole point of a grow is to _avoid_ pollination and seeding so the plant grows as large as possible.
He's just regurgitating tired social media fear mongering bullshit manufactured by drug companies so you avoid plant based remedies and medicines. The same people that brought you oxycontin think it's bad for you to smoke weed.
Meanwhile in states where marijuana is illegal you can still buy that awful K2 shit and bath salts in the gas stations.

Just bc they come from clones doesn't mean the plant isn't GMO. They also soak the weed in chemicals to reduce the potency to be within the legal limit, which process and which chemicals they use isn't always disclosed.
> Just bc they come from clones doesn't mean the plant isn't GMO
Then you grow them indoors. The entire idea behind GMO technology, to make them resistant to roundup, is then pointless. Monsanto has never produced a GMO marijuana seed.
> to reduce the potency to be within the legal limit
What legal limit? There are two states which have one. Which are 30 and 35%. This is the level of top shelf high quality marijuana. If you can grow above 35% then you're doing something very few people can actually do. Really you just pick a strain that has an expected THC concentration. No grower is surprised by their results. The knew what they grew.
If they were somehow surprised they can convert that crop into edibles which allow a much higher concentration.
> which process and which chemicals they use isn't always disclosed.
Yea, it's called heat or UV light, which no one is doing because you can make edibles just as easily. No grower is using some expensive chemical lab based process to slightly reduce THC levels in Vermont to be able to sell you a $50 eighth.
The guy in the video tries to say that "the government made it legal." Which is bullshit; however, the government _did_ make it illegal. Why? Because of potency and post process issues? Smoke weed or don't but you have to be able to see through their bullshit.
Weed was made illegal by the government because of paper industry lobbying and then they went on a smear campaign to justify banning it. The more you know

Almost every teenager and even early 20 something wants to smoke some weed. I don't think we can really fight that, and I don't think we should. It is enough to promote health and make sure young men understand that smoking is unhealthy. It is unhealthy for the lungs and body in general, of course, but weed is also unhealthy for the mind.
This is just a cultural problem. In a proper culture, after some experimenting in youth, most normal, functional men should lose interest in weed and most other drugs as they transition into adulthood. IMO, having serious interest in weed much into your 20s is pretty cringe. Even really past college graduation age (i.e. 22 or 23).
I did have some good times smoking with friends as a kid so I can't lecture an 18 year old not to go party or whatever, but it is not really *that* fun. I have not had marijuana in any form now in almost 10 years, I cant even remember a date to be honest. Prior to that, I might have a little bit here and there split out by months at a time with none. I personally don't believe people who smoke weed regularly into adulthood are actually enjoying it. Not the way teenagers do. They just have shit lives they need to escape, and the weed does not really work. Other drugs don't work either.

having any interest in weed even when you are young is cringe and gay. you should be out doing things, not being a bored lazy homebody. not at any age. that is if you were raised right, and not the offspring of bored lazy homebody parents.
Yeah, I get you. I was a very high functioning teenager. What I am saying is that most every young person wants to try things and form their own opinions about life. We can't tell young 17 and 18 year olds they aren't allowed to do that, this is why when I was a teenager everyone hated boomer George Bush style Republicans.
For me, personally, I figured out very quickly that sitting around stoned all the time was lame. I was not judgey of kids who did that sort of thing, but I figured out at a very young age that being a pot head was not for me. It was occasionally fun in youth to do that sort of thing with friends, but any sort of regular use leads to nowhere.
This is probably why in adulthood I use pretty much zero weed and there are people who use it from their teens more until they are elderly.
Weed culture sucks. Smoking a joint at the same level that people come home and drink a beer is something else entirely.
> I personally don't believe people who smoke weed regularly into adulthood are actually enjoying it.
It helps me write software which I have trouble holding interest in otherwise. Aside from that if you've never had some CBD gummies to kill chronic joint pain from your day job then I think you should reserve an absolutist position on the personal habits of others which have no impact on you.

I never took any drugs, nor cigarettes, nor alcohol, nor coffee. In fact, I hate all of those. Drugs make you dumb and retarded. Cigarettes are a massive waste of money, disgusting to be around when smoked, and apparently you even lose your sense of taste, along with other health issues. Alcohol just purely makes you retarded and causes you to change your personality while active. Coffee is for the weak - this fucking mentality that comes with it is reprehensible and pathetic.
Why? How would anyone get into any of those? As of children, they get into these out of peer pressure, just to be "cool." And then they can't get out of those for 20-50 years. Amazing. Coffee is for adults and pathetic. It smells and tastes like shit.
Everyone I meet who is on some of these drugs I see as pathetic. I don't want to claim I have no vices, but man... not these absolute trash-tier vices, and nothing that has such negative consequences as any of these. I can literally stop any of those without getting withdrawal symptoms (not eating ice cream, wow what a calamity).
People who drink coffee say that they get headaches when they don't drink it for a day. It also creates a system dependency to taking it. When people tell you how they do not want to be spoken to (before they had their coffee)[https://www.google.com/search?q=don%27t+speak+to+me+before+my+coffee] and make it some cringe boomer meme or t-shirts. Like they are proud to be addicts to something HECKIN' COOL CAREER PEOPLE are addicted to.
To people it's like a ritual. Also my former pajeet colleague drank his fucking coffee or tea, who sat next to me, and I hated it. That continuous but sporadic slurping. JUST FUCKING DRINK LIKE AN ADULT - but no, they must slurp it like imbeciles while it's too hot. I had to wear headphones and listen to music to not having to hear that.
I hate rituals. In fact I personally have none. And I don't slurp.
> What about soda?
They are not addictive. There is worse and better, but that big corporation garbage is among the worst: Cola, Sprite, Fanta, etc. I personally drank mango juice for a while with ice cubes.
