First of all congratulations. You're doing what we should all aspire to. Realistically though, get prepared for the workload of a part-time job if you want to do it right. It took me around 5 years from my first viewing to closing on the property I now own.
Establish a firm criteria. For me water was non-negotiable, and I basically centered my search around places that had abundant and pure water. Emphasis on the word *firm* though. It's fine if you don't know what you want when you're starting out, and good job taking some initiative by making this post, but seriously start spending 20+ hours a week researching and learning everything you can about land ownership and rural living, about the various laws in different states and counties (and how strictly they are enforced), and about anything else you need to know to make a decision. For example, a good place to start might be deciding what you need to have within x of hours travel. Are you prepared to live 4+ hours away from a hospital etc. That should help you narrow down your search radius.
Another consideration: if you're goal is true self sufficiency you might want to qualify that to make sure you're not just chasing some fantasy. Saying instead that you want to be able to raise a family without relying on ZOG for food, water, shelter, and protection is more concrete. That still means you need a community though, along with tools and equipment.
