If I were in that situation, I'd turn around, pull out my knife, and kill him. I'd slit his throat and try to bring him to the ground. As I sit on him, holding him down, I'd use the remaining time to ram my knife into his head wherever possible (including eyes).
But I wouldn't be in that situation. I'd have seen and heard him walk up to me, and it would have been a fight.
The key is to have a mentality in which you are willing to maim and kill and do not hesitate. While others may be in a state of shock, panic and confusion, I've already made my decisions long time ago, and I know brownoids can go feral. There is nothing to think about except how to best handle the situation in that moment.
