There’s a joke about economists like that: two of them walking, one offers the other 10k to eat dog shit from the sidewalk. He does it and pockets the money. When they come across another turd he offers the same in return. One of them then wonders: "wait, now we both ate shit and haven’t made a cent?" To which his friend replies "Well, at least we increased the GDP by 20k"
