it makes sense when you understand what the WNBA actually is: a charity sponsored playground for tall brownoids. They dont have to generate revenue, they dont have to be good, all they have to do is be "present".

A white woman showing them up by actually being good upset their apple cart and they knew it. If Caytlin Clark was allowed to succeed, in terms of generating sales revenue or viewership/interest, then the teams would have to start recruiting good players to keep up.
