He did not. The Mediterranean army sizes and styles were VASTLY inferior to the insane numbers of India at the time. He saw that and said "nope". He won a single battle with the help of an Indian army, saw the craziness of how they fought, and went home. Remember this was still during the long standing aryan hegemony that created India. These arent modern jeets.
