AI has it's uses, it does cheapen art, but only a couple of levels more than digital illustration (which Mr Skelly is) in that they both speed up the process, use short cuts, make mistakes less often and mistakes are easier/quicker to correct compared to hand art like painting or drawing. I think a lot of the hate on AI as an art form is from non-artistic people using it thoughtlessly (which I still believe it has a lot of usefulness even though it's not art). I think AI generated image/video/text can be either art or not art, depending on how it's used.
Having said that I generally dislike it and don't consider it art most of the time. But many people who don't consider AI Art to be art do consider modern money laundering to be art (like a canvas painted entirely white or a banana taped to a wall etc.).
