This week I sold my first arborist job cutting down a tree grown over a deck.

Despite a few equipment setbacks the tree came down without doing any damage, the (White) customer was happy and is going to hire me again, and I was able to employ a couple of (White) kids as labour; I trained them how to use ratchet straps, a nearly lost art.

I'm not going to unseat Satan and his children from the throne of this world, but I'm going to ensure the continuity and strength of the Children of God.

This one wasn't big, which is why I agreed to give it a shot on my own. But is was directly over the deck, the new roof, and another smaller tree they wanted to keep, so it was tricky.

I got the boys on ratchet straps to pull and it went down smooth.

I definitely want to do more of this. There's something about trees that speaks to a fundamentally human part of us.
