It's a popular myth here that Israel created Hamas. It was created after the first knife intifada, by a quadripalegic. That was actually December of 1987 but it didn't get anything going other than writing until 1988.
It's true that Israel tried the strategy of supporting its charitable efforts, thinking it might weaken the PLO. That's very different from your ignorant claim.
