Every day I see articles of someone (98% of the time a black) doing some heinous crime. You have too. A black working at a daycare horribly assaulting a young child. A black at an elderly care facility bodyslamming a 90 year old. Etc etc. I've posted quite a few of the headline captures here.
Comments sections online are a treasure trove of insight. You'll have the rare black comment justifying or explaining away the heinous act. "maybe dat yt toddler deserved it" to be hit with a stapler by, at the age of 2.
Most comments at least agree that the actions of the groid in question are bad. But most of them fall so short of the anger these acts should illicit.
"She should be fired."
"She should never work in childcare again."
"I can't believe it happened so many times before someone did something about it."
Fired? Reprimanded? That's it? Aside from the obvious that any groid will just get fired and go right back into the EBT line, why is merely firing them the gut response? Why don't people demand that heads roll? Has the west become SO neutered that we can't even fathom severe/martial punishment?
I could understand "the internet is forever" and not wanting to say something incriminating, but there are ways to say it without saying it, otherwise why comment at all? And even man on the street type things have shown many women when asked "would you kill to save your child?" do not kneejerk say "yes". In fact, many outright say no.
Tolerance is a weakness.
Looking the other way is weakness.
These are not things anyone should aspire towards.
Demand more from your peers. When you spot weakness like that, call it out. Push them to justify their position. Iron out the weakness from your friends and family, but most importantly our/yourselves.
