A lot of the brownskins and yellow skins are really into candied pineapple.
Some of these recipes call for equal parts of sugar and pineapple.
Just let the brownskins be brownskins.

In the United States, diabetes disproportionately affects minority groups. The age-adjusted prevalence rates for adults are as follows:
Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders: Highest prevalence at ~27.7%.
American Indians and Alaska Natives: ~15.7% (with some isolated tribal communities experiencing rates as high as 25% to 30%).
Non-Hispanic Black Adults: ~12.2%.
Hispanic and Latino Adults: ~11.8% to 12.5%. (Puerto Rican populations exhibit the highest rates within this demographic).
Asian Americans: ~9.7%. (South Asian populations like individuals of Indian or Pakistani descent are at notably higher risk ).
Non-Hispanic White Adults: ~7.1%.
