I don’t even know how this is allowed, let alone possible. With that said, I’ve never been one to look a gift horse in the dick.

The only thing I can think is that his defense knows he’s fucked, and they’re trying for some type of mistrial, and/or a reduced sentence from a higher court appeal down the line.
