I actually love my air fryer. So simple to cook and clean things. They do a decent job at mimicking some of the crisp of frying (though, not quite as good).
What's the best air fryer to buy for alt-right safety concerns. I hear a lot of the materials used in air fryers are really bad for you. Plastics, chemical compounds which may breakdown on the non-stick surfaces, etc...
Any ideas on which is the safest air fryer to use?
The tech is nothing new, it's just a heated coil in front of a fan. We've had this for a long time and have always called them CONVECTION OVENS.
Check if your oven has a convection button on it, and if so, try to cook something in there the same way that you would with your airfryer. The button might not be labeled and instead look like a fan logo.
There are stove+oven units that split the oven into two smaller ovens, usually dedicating a small one for broiling and convection and these units will work like your air frying but 3x the size and around the same cook times. But the absolute best you can get would be a GAS POWERED CONVECTION OVEN. They are full sized ovens, but real fire means it preheats in no time and the extra size means your meals are cooked more evenly and need less irritation (tossing/flipping). But in some areas they are banned due to climate tyranny laws, which is expanding, so if your home has natural gas and its not yet illegal in your area, hands down the best "air fryer" you can get is a gas convection oven.
Second, more budget option would be to get the cheapest countertop unit that you can find that isn't made of plastic. In the modern day, appliances like these are not designed to last or be repaired so budget under $100 and hope to find one that lasts a few years before doing it again. Some are as cheap as $25.
As for the rest of the stuff, you’re right, but you have to experiment a lot more to get certain things dialed in on the kitchen oven, it’s much harder to clean, and most importantly, you can easily move it outside to keep the heat, and food smell from blowing up in the house. In southern Louisiana this helps a lot.
