I can elaborate about LLMs.
First of all, they are over-hyped to an extreme. And not because they look into what it is *right now*, because extrapolate based on metrics. I don't give the slightest shit about the opinions of people who have no experience with LLMs themselves, namely YouTubers like Asmongold. They just TALK out of ignorance, out of personal predictions without personal experience.
It takes quite some effort and skill to be able to extract actual value ***for work*** from LLMs that doesn't end up to be just entertainment or slop. And it requires something where it is possible. LLMs are just a tool, and as such quite good, but you need to wield them right.
Funnily, I talked with Gemini about this topic, and it confirms this. I wanted to know if there is something about AI/LLMs I don't know about. But there is no revolutionary AI. Some companies or people *may* work on some things like textures, and the next ***supposed*** revolution is a slight-decent increase in productivity. There is no AI that could integrate code into my code base - I would also be insane to throw it up on some foreign server in the first place. It is good in very limited cases that are sufficiently isolated from the rest of the code - and CODE is where it shines btw.
And in all cases you need to do more than just write code. Right now I am working on prefabs for space stations, drones, interceptors and escort ships. How can AI help me? Not at all.
So fuck those idiotic talkers. I've dealt with LLMs from the very beginning, and I've written quite some assessments about them, even professionally. The hype is just purely delusional idiocy coming from people ***who never used LLMs for anything productive ever***.
