Southern european and Slavic women are strong willed, will fight with you if they think youre in the wrong, and they are quite independent (not in an "I don't need no man" way, but in a self sufficiency way). Combine both and you get Balkan women. If you expect a submissive and obedient woman, this region of the world is not for you. It isn't because of jews and it isn't because of modern feminism, many of them are anti feminist but are very much like this. It's cultural, perhaps genetic. It works because men are also loud and argumentative in the south and Slavic men are cold and stoic, Balkan men are both.
Do with that information what you will, but unless you find an (ironically) americanized woman, you will not get your idea of an American housewife. They are fine with fulfilling traditional roles, of course, but they are most definitely not afraid of getting on your ass about whatever or arguing with you over something. But arguing is the way of life here. Not just in marriage but in many places. It's fine, but mediterannean and Slavic people as a whole are very staunchly minded independents in their personal lives.
Also I have no idea who told you that they're more traditional in that region (in terms of dress at least) but they're certainly not. Although there's much more of a disconnect between dress and personal beliefs. There are plenty of tatted up women, women with piercings, and alt girls and they are absolutely everywhere. The difference is that they're much less likely to tie their appearance to their personal beliefs, so it's much harder to figure out. Look up Isabel Peralta from spain (yes I know, different parts of the med, but I know from experience that southern and southeast Europe are pretty similar in attitudes. Total e-girl but also a catholic falangist activist that's been in and out of prison in Germany for it. The inverse is also true. You can meet someone who dresses super modestly and traditionally and they could be the most leftist person on earth. But I think that this is just traditional. The catholic/orthodox southern Europe has always been far, far more liberal about standards of dress and modesty than northern europe, especially after protestantism. Probably to do with the heat here. This extended into the age of tattoos, short skirts, bikinis, and alternative fashion, people and the church just don't give a fuck and never have. Everybody wears whatever the hell they want, whether they are devoutly religious and conservative or not at all.
