>Democracy can work when you have a homogenous people and culture

Not even then. It never works period. If it worked when we were a homogenous people and culture, morons wouldn't have voted us to where we are now. The majority of all people are fucking stupid. That's what being a normie is. Being easily influenced by whatever. Demagogues influenced the landowning white males into enacting suffrage in the first place. It simply doesn't work, for any type of society, with any type of people, and for any reason. Plato already told us why democracy is retarded. It doesn't work because it's completely unnatural for anything outside of the scale of very small, local, and homogenous communities. Some town might be able to function off of democracy. Anything larger in scale simply doesn't. The masses should not vote on things both because very few people know how policy works and because opinions change at the drop of a hat because people are extremely easily influenced by everything under the sun. Especially now, with the internet, but since forever.

No national goal can be reached if people's opinions shift wildly because differing political figures get their jimmies rustled about opposing topics every x number of years. You cannot think in generations if you can only see policy through for 4-8 years, and then someone who campaigns on opposing whatever you did takes over and restarts everything. This is why china is beating the west. This is why hitler, mussolini, and even the ussr for a long time were too. A goal and a people united for that goal under one party rule.

Yeah, good points. Democracies work well for awhile when the populace isn't too large and like I said, there's homogeneity. I'm familiar with Plato's opinions on the subject and tend to agree. We have seen voting in democracies or republics work to varying degrees throughout history. Given the appropriate circumstances and when voting is restricted to the proper people. But yes, I'd agree with you. There's many caveats to it functioning at all, and it's not what will course correct our future.
