My wife and I have ten acres of woods. We’ve cleared out about an acre and plotted out where septic needs to be (later in the process). We are getting a geodesic dome kit structure. About 1,200 sq ft for $34,000 all in. This allows us to submit the spec sheet to the zoning department without needing an architect to independently calculate all that shit. Next phase is building out the inside, then well and septic. We are doing this in phases so we don’t need to take out a bunch of money up front and to minimize financing.
All the neighbors we’ve met up there have been based as fuck and very eager to help us.
My wife and I have both been working towards this end since 2020 and it’s an awesome feeling to actually have these things come together. It’s taken our entire focus these last six years but we are trying to set ourselves up to be as robust and durable as we can for the coming decades whatever they may bring.
