Honestly, I bought a home gym because I did the math. $30+ per month is minimum $360 per year plus the transportation to and from the gym. For about $1000 I decked out my gym with nice gear i got for really cheap on craigslist. Free weights, bench, pulley machines, even mats and racks. My truck was so loaded with weights the suspension was grinding LOL. Decked it out. The laundry room water heater room doubles as the gym.

Home gyms are cheaper in the long run...if you have the space for it. If you're in a 1BR in a shitty apartment with floors that can't handle heavy weights it's a lot more limiting.
True. My gym is on a concrete pad with tile flooring so I needed the horse mats. Fortunately the guy threw them in for free. I think tractor supply sells them. Also I like avoiding a commute, blasting my own work out music, having ice water and bananas nearby, my own shower, and I can probably sell the weights for same I paid for them if I ever have to.
Honestly I do so much hard manual labor that I don't use my gym as much. I am getting hard workouts but getting paid for doing it. Try pole sanding a ceiling for hours all day. My shoulders feel jacked. Also other jobs I move heavy extension ladders around and go up and down ladders, roofs etc. Try hauling heavy bags of shingles up a ladder on your shoulder. Takes strong balance
You forgot the cost of the space for your home gym. The room or area it's located has a cost, even if it's an opportunity cost. Part of the rent or mortgage you pay includes the cost of the additional space you're using for your gym, even if it's outside in a car port or a patio. If you have a two bedroom house, that additional room means a few hundred dollars more per month you're paying for your gym.
I work every muscle just doing physical labor on people's farms
Home gym saves you the gym membership
But you could make income and work out both at same time. People pay you to work out by doing physical labor. That's even better
Gyms can be very gay. There's a lot of vanity. Women trying to show off in yoga pants around men. Men with too much vanity posing in mirrors instead of pushing weight. Gay music. Gay employees . I avoid normies gyms. Cross fit gyms were okay for a while but even they became gay. Let's have people lift a stack of old tractor tires yeeeeeeaaaaah then we charge $100/mo no thanks
