On the one hand psychedelics don't cause addiction and can help with brain damage but why is there this push for them from the (((government)))?

One thing that comes to mind is the pharmaceutical area. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys famously did a LOT of acid, and ended up suffering from auditory hallucinations for the rest of his life because of it. If you give **millions** of people psychedelics the odds that a solid portion of them will walk away with lifelong issues because of it is incredibly high. Cue prescriptions to make the voices stop.
