if you dont get the job it is not the end of the world. Dont bet everything on this. Don't be so desperate for just one job. See who else will take on an apprentice in the area.

In the event it doesn't work out this time, continue collecting certs like merit badges and you'll get picked up soon enough. If you aren't a paramedic, get there, and if you want to pay out in the middle of nowhere, get that wilderness medic cert and every other rescue cert you can squeeze in (ropes, technical rescue, swift wate, flflight medic, etc). Also keep am eye out for federal fire fighting positions (parks, military bases etc).
