Where’s the health delineation between a hot dog and a sausage, I wonder. What consistency (body parts) does it have to have before it becomes “slop”?

Oh brother that there is called *standards*. We used to have em. It's not AS bad in the UK in fact. When something says quality pork sausage it generally is. Mechanically recovered meat from meat carcass is 80 to 90 pct of a hotdogs content. No contest a British sausage is better. By miles. Nothing else tastes like hotdog meat. That should be a red flag.
