i thought that was AI but it's just Bryan Catanzaro looking like some queer playing with computer chips

I thought AI software language models could be run on local hardware? If you drop $5000 for latest GPU i'm guessing you can run your own AI off that? Or are they not making the computer hardware available for the consumer market?

How much of it is subscription fee based? Can you avoid subscriptions and run your own AI models void of an internet connection?

You can run them on low powered machines but it takes forever. For instance I ran a low grade llama model on a computer with 64Gb of ram and it took about 45 seconds to answer a query that a chat gpt on copilot would answer in seconds and with a mich better answer.

Subscriptions are constantly rising in price and people are being given less features each time
