I made a few posts recently, one pointing out how the Trinity is not in the Bible (so stop saying that), another how the Bible cannot be infallible (or inerrant) (so stop saying that) and finally another one pointing out how ever Christian is Christian because they had an encounter with God in one way or the other.
This post should help you understand why those things are so important.
We are in a war, and that war can sometimes be a physical war, but it often is not. We are in a constant struggle and it is a war we are fighting with our spirits and minds and hearts, not necessarily our hands and feet.
This battle is between unseen (but not invisible) forces. One side wants to tear our souls away from God and send us to eternal damnation. The other side wants to reunite our spirits with God and enjoy the promised eternal exaltation living with God and living LIKE God.
Every moment of every day you are making choices, choices you were presented with when one or the other side presented you with enticements. It is imperative that we learn, early and often, how to distinguish whether an idea / spirit / desire is of God or of Satan. And it is imperative that we choose to follow God's spirits, not the spirits that follow Satan.
How can you possibly see the end from the beginning?
Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life." Whatever draws us closer to Christ is good and from God. Whatever drives us away from him is of Satan. That's all you need to know, really, and that's the key that unlocks all the spiritual potential within you.
Having confidence in Christ means we have confidence in those spirits and souls that swear allegiance to him and are working under his direction. We can move forward with faith that we are on the right side and working for the benefit of not just ourselves, but all of the people around us.
Without that confidence, we hesitate, we miss opportunities, and we end up in a depressed and in sorrow. We lose our hope. We lose our vitality and health. We become losers of the worst sort, because we have sacrificed our potential.
It is imperative that we not act like this any longer. Embrace Christ, follow his example, follow the promptings and ideas and desires that lead toward him without hesitation. Anything else -- shelve it for a while, leave it alone, let it stew off to the side, or throw it out altogether.
This is how our ancestors did what they did. It is how we are going to do what we are going to do.
The time is now! No more delay!
READ THE BIBLE.
PRAY TO GOD.
FOLLOW HIS SPIRIT!
Believing heresy will dry up your soul.
Scholars admit it isn't there.
You don't need to misrepresent what is in there. If you want to believe it, that's fine, just don't lie about the contents of the book.
