There was a post elsewhere that brought up costs and issues associated with weddings

This may be a morbid and serious topic for some but I wish it was covered more so plans were in place for people

Upon some recent deaths I looked in to funeral costs and it looks like there are excesses that could be trimmed

Some caskets can cost like $10k and... are used like once just to bury a person. There are less expensive pine coffins - you could maybe build your own.

There are costs of keeping bodies on ice until they're buried; embalming; visiting hours at funeral parlors; costs of cemetery plots.

Some of those are fixed costs, and the costs and mechanics of better ways of doing things could be discussed

There's legal aspects of getting death certificates, having a will, and so on

There's preparation of reducing or gifting possessions to others in preparation for dying

There's the spiritual aspect of preparing for death before God

Have you given thought to dying, preparing for dying, have tips for avoiding unnecessary funeral costs, etc.?

No, I've never planned my own death. I don't plan on dying.

But I know that each day is a gift and that I am unworthy of this blessed life.

Death will come for me someday and my time is limited. So perhaps I should focus more on God or building a legacy, but all I truly want is to spend as much time as I possibly can with those that I love.
