Iran's oil is going to countries like China

Countries that either pretend to support the US or who are actively trying to fight it

Iran was never our real enemy. The regime that Carter put in charge was our enemy, but Iranians themselves are not our enemy.

If we can use Iran to squeeze China, and make Iran rich at the same time, I have no problem with that.
