Same with locally grown apples; they've gone from $2/lb to $2.75/lb in 5 years, bananas stay the same price.

Pineapples went from $2 to $3 in the same time period. Tomatoes from $1.67 to $2.50. Everything goes up *except bananas*!

What's the deal?

No clue, maybe they are just that much more prolific and the supply is higher than the demand. I'm curious to look into it now

Same deal as blueberries. They poisoned the shit out of it with glyphosate and God knows what else, on top of deprived it from nutrients
