The Enlightenment was the product of the Reformation allowing Renaissance Humanism to go out of control, all the Technological advancements would have occurred regardless, its the same case with Commies taking credit for industrialization in Russia that was already beginning under the Tsar.
The Enlightenment actually reduced all the senseless wars and brought forth leaps in technology, medicine and culture.
