Never thought about the psychological dimension of a leg kick. Low kicks are devastating. Fred is good enough to get away with it.

He grabbed the pole, broke it and retreated. Noted. What is he doing? Bodyguard for a counter protester?

Bodyguard for a YouTuber that documents the decay of European cities.

Yes, a properly placed kick can throw your opponent off balance or knock them down entirely. If they fall on their ass, it has a huge psychological impact. The mind's "fight-or-flight" reaction kicks in, they realize how vulnerable they are on the floor, and are more likely to back-off. Even if they don't fall, their leg is now that much weaker and they doubt themselves.

But as my Karate teacher taught me, IF you find yourself in a fight you can't avoid, ACCEPT that you're going to get hurt and get CRAZY -- Punch, Kick, Scream, Bite ... make the other guy regret waking up that morning!

Crazy works good. Has to be genuine. Pussy crazy don't. See Donny Trump for how that works. Or doesn't.
