Why do people act like appeasing Satan works? He will give you today just so he can consume you tomorrow
Taiwan has been a joke of a country ever since that utter disease called the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) got control of it.
The DPP-led government holds a referendum on homosexual 'marriage'. The majority vote against it. The government brings it in anyway.
A few years later, just before previous president Tsai Ing-wen left office, she had a literal drag queen performance in the presidential palace.
Who knows how a country that has had both Confucian and mild fascist (I say 'mild' because fascist and Nazi sympathizers were only a very small amount of the KMT, and vastly outnumbered by the liberals, Marxists, and other non-fascist groups within the KMT) influences could degenerate so rapidly into that absolute crap-show of a country whose total fertility rate is now a pathetic 0.87? (The emphasis on economic growth and the idea that population growth is bad for poverty reduction is part of why the total fertility rates have collapsed fantastically in these countries, since 'One Child', 'Stop At Two', etc. policies always end up being over-corrections in hindsight.)
This is why I think the whole 'defend Taiwan' thing that the American presidents go on and on about is stupid for actual Rightists to support. Like hell do I support the Taiwan of 2026 against Red China. Red China has its own problems, but not on the level of Taiwan. Since they're a more hierarchical government, they're able to do U-Turns that most governments can't: in today's PRC, we're seeing feminists thrown in jail, pride parades shut down, feminism condemned as foreign and subversive by senior government figures (disingenuous when Chinese feminism was more Mao's fault than anything, but otherwise well-intentioned). Good luck doing any of that in the United States.
Time will tell if the PRC can save itself from the ideological diseases slowly engulfing the world: I have more confidence in the PRC than I do in most countries; but, of course, that's a very low bar.

Remember Prop 10 in California back in 2010? Landslide rejection of gay "marriage." Then one judge in the 9th Circuit -- with a lesbian daughter -- overturns the whole thing and makes it law. America is a equally a joke of a country. In fact, a real country is made of a real people. America isn't even White anymore. It's not a real country; it's an Economic Zone, up for sale to the highest bidder.
