Especially when you need it and can't plan around it, like emergency plumbing, tow, ERs, all predatory.

100% true, the more you need something the more likely it is to be predatory. Dentist. Gasoline. Medicine. Transportation. Even ultilies. And the less you need it, the more honest the sale is. Beer is the only item that has stayed a consistent price my entire life.

Yeah that's part of the problem of living in a low trust multicultural society

There are no real incentives to help people, only opportunities to make money off their problems
