People on here love to call me a drug addict who has nothing going for him with "brain damage". I can assure you that anyone who has made these claims has NO IDEA what they are talking about.

Mushrooms (psilocybin) are literally so safe that I personally think we should NOT consider them being a controlled substance.

1. They are not pharmaceuticals. They leave absolutely 0 toxicity to the body. And when I say 0, I mean literally 0. They literally couldn't even find the LD50 of psilocybin on humans. That's how safe it is. The only toxicity you could possibly get is if you consume a wrong species of mushroom that contains toxins, but even that has nothing to do with the psilocybin itself.

2. They don't cause a physical dependence. The actual substance itself doesn't cause addiction because it doesn't alter your reward system in ANYWAY.

3. Not even considered a gateway "drug".

4. It can make you open new experiences and give you self-actualization.

False, there is an LD50. It's just much higher than any typical recreational dose. Like 1000x higher. Granted, it's higher than caffeine's LD50, but it still exists.

"New experiences and self-actualization" with regards to psychedelics is just fuckin nonsense babbling. Trippin out and chasing machine elves from the comfort of your couch is not a "new experience". Nor will talking to your trash can promote self-actualization. Trip hard enough, often enough, and you'll likely just end up with HPPD, which is possible with psilocybin, or you could go crazy.

As far as gateways go, it's generally babies first hallucinogen. Next stop: LSD and ayahuasca. "You gotta try DMT, man" - Retard Rogan

Hallucinogens can absolutely fuck you up permanently. People have had total psychotic breaks on them. This is possible because they plasticize your brain, and anything is possible when you Serious Table Flip all your neurons and just pray they land right back where they started. This is also why there is research into microdosing as a therapeutic for stuff like PTSD.
