I said I wasn't sure if the USA could pull off a victory and I'm not sure what their objective is because I don't think regime change is going to work.
The normies had such a different take. One guy said Iran has no military left, everyone defected, the USA took out all their equipment and military installments so the USA can just deploy some ground troops and easily take the country.
Another guy said Iranians are protesting like crazy and they'll topple their own government soon enough such that the USA can then gain access to all the oil in the area so it'll be a huge win.
I asked where they were getting their information and one of them said he only watches mainstream news because they're the most trustworthy.
I asked if they thought maybe their take on Iran was more propaganda that reality and then denied that.
I just don't get how people can be so easily tricked. No one really has any clue what's going on, cause fog of war. Every side always lies about military accomplishments. Yet... They just accept what they're told. I don't get it.

> Estimates of deaths tied to the Afghanistan wars since 2001 vary widely by category and source: Brown University’s Costs of War project counts **more than 940,000 direct deaths** across five post‑9/11 theaters (including Afghanistan) from 2001–2023, with over 432,000 civilians among them [1]. United Nations and NGO tallies focused on Afghanistan alone attribute the majority of recorded civilian deaths to Taliban and other anti‑government elements — typically 61–80% in UNAMA reporting
