I said I wasn't sure if the USA could pull off a victory and I'm not sure what their objective is because I don't think regime change is going to work.

The normies had such a different take. One guy said Iran has no military left, everyone defected, the USA took out all their equipment and military installments so the USA can just deploy some ground troops and easily take the country.

Another guy said Iranians are protesting like crazy and they'll topple their own government soon enough such that the USA can then gain access to all the oil in the area so it'll be a huge win.

I asked where they were getting their information and one of them said he only watches mainstream news because they're the most trustworthy.

I asked if they thought maybe their take on Iran was more propaganda that reality and then denied that.

I just don't get how people can be so easily tricked. No one really has any clue what's going on, cause fog of war. Every side always lies about military accomplishments. Yet... They just accept what they're told. I don't get it.

Well, the US could probably pull off a victory if Israel's own stamina weren't a factor, and this is obviously a primarily Israeli war. Tel-Aviv right now looks like gaza even with the US being a joint partner. And it still keeps getting hammered by missiles from Iran and iranian proxies. Tel-aviv is looking significantly worse than Tehran does just from the missiles alone. If Israel peters out and eventually sues for peace, then there won't be any way for the US to stay active in the war. After all, the US is owned by israel, and at that point it would end up being less about Israel's (hypothetically) failed regime change and expansion, it would be about their survival as a state, and if the US stayed active and Israel pulled out, Iran would still be blitzing Israel anyways, but if both parties left, Iran would agree to peace accords with both of them.

Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

Israel overstepped their own capabilities by making themselves a co-belligerent. Ariel Sharon was a lot smarter and less reckless than netanyahu by not involving Israel at all during the war in Iraq and thus not giving Iraq a casus belli for an all out war. If netanyahu were the Israeli PM in 1991 or 2003, he'd probably get Israel involved in this shitshow way earlier and Israel likely would not exist right now.

Netanyahu created a situation where the US military's capabilities are intrinsically tied to Israel's much weaker military capabilities. Let's hope that this will be their undoing.
