Even during total apocalyptic war most of the military will never see combat. Front line infantry makes up a fraction of the military. Logisticians, analysts, cooks, mechanics, etc make up a majority of it. The only branch of an armed service where you're in danger of conflict in a full scale war no matter what role you have is in the navy, and even then only if you're part of a ship's crew, you're equally fucked whether you crew a gun or push paperwork. Engineers however might have a moderately higher mortality rate because they work below the waterline

It's what you used to have to do to lead a people. But you used to have to pay them real gold or silver and not fiat jewBuck promissory notes backed by the faith in the corrupt government and full faith and credit of its $40 trillion debt. Your ancestors weren't that gullible.

If we were to rewrite a new constitution maybe that should be a clause. Congress members or politicians with power to declare war or enter the nation into war must first draft their own sons to lead the charge in combat, to prove the worthiness of the war that they would even dare sacrifice their own sons to the purpose of the war.
