It's because nothing ever happens in the west. Nobody will do anything if they continue to be comfortable, no revolutionary situation arises. Unless there is an economic collapse that leaves people actually destitute, or a war, nobody will do anything in general. It's nothing new, it has always been like this. It took the largest economic disaster in history for germans to actually do shit at all about the Weimar Republic. If the great depression never happened, nothing would have ever changed.
Even with the drop of the epstein files and the Iran war, still, nothing will change if relative comfort in the first world remains as it is. People will just posture online. Maybe they'll protest and riot in the streets, but they won't start killing people because of first world problems that might be a consequence of them doing this. They have lives they don't want thrown away. Understandable, but not ideal. What will it take for a large scale collapse of some sort to occur to make these changes take place? To make people choose their own destiny again? That's the question at hand. People love comfort, if something doesn't have an immediate impact on them and their families, then "no pasa nada".
