I don't understand why alcohol gets so much hate. Even though its injurious to health, its a social drink.
Yes, my problem is that whenever anyone says, "I'll have a drink" I say, "Social I!". Alcoholism is not fun, and I thank God for taking the addiction from me. You want to drink? Go for it. And enjoy. I just know it's not going to stop there with me. This Lent will be my third in sobriety from alcohol.
It's because alcoholism makes for observational decline in a person. A guy you like at work starts drinking, suddenly he can't show up on time. He can't concentrate on work because he's so hung over so quality goes down. He stops paying his bills to get drunk. He ignores his family to get drunk.

I think weed is fine if used sparingly as a psychedelic. Like once or twice a year as a semi religious ritual of self reflection.
That being said, the daily use and stoner life is massively damaging. I used to be one, and I used to think I'd never stop until it degraded my life to the point where I had to quit cold turkey.

Ironically I think legalizing weed, and therefore erasing its rebellious/niggerized image, could actually do a lot to damage its popularity.
