The python API is only v3.8 though. I don't know exactly what that means but I like bigger numbers after the 3.

Just don't switch to Notepad++. They also have a scandal at the moment where their webhost was hacked by Chinese nationals and any versions of the program from the last 2 or so years are compromised.
