Had the Civil war either been prevented by Lincoln acceding to the south's demand for more fair tariffs and tax allocation, maybe things could have been delayed or mitigated, but once the Federalist North won the Civil war and Lincoln was assassinated before he could repatriate the blacks, our fate was sealed.
