This article is talking about the absolute brainlets that copy paste things into chatgpt to have it reply for them in arguments, then copy paste those replies back into comment sections or emails, or blog posts or what have you.

Also, I assume the data reflects the people who ask AI chatbots what they should do in every day circumstances ('hey chat what should I have for dinner' levels of tardery)

this is what I was getting at. ChatGPT doesn't make you stupider, it attracts stupid people, so stupid people use it more often. Kind of like TikTok, Weed, tattoos, or vape.

Tattoos don't make someone stupid, stupid people get tattoos.
