It was just another reward system for them. The blackmail option would have NEVER worked if it were about individuals - it takes just a single person to spill the beans about all of it, causing massive havoc to the ENTIRE operation. Through that, it would implicate all sorts of other traitorous shabbos goyim and jews with them.
Just as now - just look what a problem it became to them. But NOBODY involved is getting under the rails, who should be under the rails.
By defending one, they defend ALL of their kin, the entire system. It means they serve interests that seek to destruction of the US and Europe primarily. They should be hung high publicly for that alone. Them being involved in the pedo ring means no further evidence is required to prove their treason - they themselves considered it more than enough to reward them for it.
"Reward" isn't the right way to think about it; try "initiation".

It's a carrot *and* the stick. Do this thing and you're part of the club; you're taken care of for the rest your life. So is your family.

The moment he stopped championing israel fully and blindly out of suddenly developing a consciousness, and started to become renitent to their demands and their carrots, the stick came. They can still destroy you in many ways outside of the blackmail system, assassination being one option. Usually they use the media to discredit you, so that you get questionable and hated first. Then they may suicide you, and nobody will seriously question it. Michael Jackson was an example of that - suddenly he became known a pedo (question mark), after he made a negative song about jews.
Other options are remove a person from the public, debanking, banning from platforms, discrediting, doxxing and sending leftist locusts. It also depends on the severity and urgency. If they can find something to ruin your reputation, you may have escaped death.
But usually the carrots are convincing enough and the stick is threatening enough so that the shabbos goyim they own stay loyal to them. But once they own you, they will end you if you become a liability to them.
